Formerly Prince of Wales; 1925, by architects Jackson & Fox for Webster’s brewery. This pub is notable for its 'Tudor' décor - oak panelling, fireplaces, ceiling, friezes - and its elaborate external wood carving by local master craftsman H P Jackson (although more is made of HMS Donegal, the source of the timber!).
